Growing & Maintenance Tips for Iris x robusta 'Gerald Darby'

Iris x robusta grow best in a rich, moist to wet soil, in full sun or partial shade. These cultivars are not tolerant of dry conditions and are best sited along wet pond edges or streams, or even in up to 5cm of water.

Plants spread by slow-growing (poisonous) rhizomes. Plants should be divided every few years, soon after flowering, but be careful of the toxins in the rhizomes.
